Marie came to Fleurissimo through the recommendation of her Aunt Carole, who was a fan of ours from having participated in our Fleurissimo design workshop. Marie is a beautiful woman who grew up in Huntington, NY and I was impressed by her creative abilities, having designed and formed the backdrop for her wedding photographs herself. During our consultation, her Aunt Carole told me that Marie has been planning her wedding since she was 3 years old! This gave us all a big laugh! Isn’t it true that a woman’s wedding day is so important because it is a symbol of all the beautiful things to come. I take such pleasure and pride in being the wedding florist chosen for such a special day.
Marie told us she dreamed of having colors of whites and greens with touches of blush so I showed her some beautiful examples of my floral designs from our Pinterest account: Fleurissimo NYC. She loved the styles I shared with her and we worked together to come up with the perfect designs to fit her budget and her expectations. I could tell she was very happy with my suggestions and I sent her the wedding proposal the next day. I was touched that she replied right away and said, “Please keep June 2nd open, my fiancé and I definitely want you to do our wedding flowers”.
I answered, “I am happy to do so, and you are going to be a beautiful bride”!
I went to the flower market myself and hand picked the most beautiful fresh flowers to be used for her bridal bouquet, centerpieces, corsages, boutonnieres and floral crowns. We incorporated fresh viburnum branches, blush Emily roses, white garden roses, spray roses and lisianthus to create the perfect expression for the occasion.

The bride cried when she walked into the ballroom and saw the wedding flowers. Her mother and aunt cried also! I was filled with pride. Everyone hugged me and I got to meet the whole family. Marie’s mother told me that the flowers fit in perfectly with her daughter’s dreams. What a warm and wonderful memory for me. It is so meaningful to me to have a job where I can bring such happiness to others.
